Devoted to supporting the mission and legacy of Tamshing Monastery in Bhutan.

At the spiritual and cultural center of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, Tamshing Temple, in the Bumthang valley is celebrated for its cultural significance, mission and direct connection to the Buddhist Bhutanese saint Pema Lingpa.
Tamshing is headed by The Venerable Lhalung Sungtrul Rinpoche the Speech Incarnation of Pema Lingpa. Despite its cultural importance, Tamshing is almost entirely self-supporting and is in urgent need of financial help.
Established in 1501, Tamshing now consists of the beloved, but crumbling temple and cramped, inadequate monks quarters. Tamshing supports a body of over 80 monks. Mostly under the age of 15, these monks are either orphans or from very poor families who can't afford to send their children to a state school. For them, Tamshing is home, school and future.
Without help, that future looks bleak. Please read more in the Background section, check out the Photos of this unique cultural site, and please consider if you can help.
You may read more about Sungtrul Rinpoche here, and his new project to relieve overcrowding, Konchogsum School of Tamshing, here.
Thank you,
